The concern regarding the materials found at the chemistry lab at Manistee
Middle High School at 525 Twelfth Street late this afternoon has been
resolved. With the assistance of Manistee City Police and Fire Departments
and the Michigan State Police the materials have been removed, and the
building has been cleared for entry.

All scheduled activities will occur as planned and any staff members
planning to work in the building tomorrow are able to proceed as planned.

MAPS administrators continue to work to identify the origin of the
materials and to determine why materials of this nature might have been
included in the inventory of the chemistry lab.

We extend our gratitude to city law enforcement, fire chief and state
police officers for their timely response and support.
